I have forgotten my verdant years,

I have forgotten my childish smile.

I gave my time to you,

and never once regretted it.

Because of you, we speak of my youthful dreams,

of beautiful longings for the future.

Because of you, camel bells rise within my heart, ringing long after they fade,

sincerity toward life, goals worth striving for.

You have become the anchor of my soul —

yes, my faith.

The touch of pen upon book is like you and me:

we are bound to leave a trace.

You brought golden radiance,

and gave me warmth tinged with color.

You brought blue devotion,

and gave me a parting laced with pain.

You brought unchanging perseverance,

and gave me smiles mixed with tears.

Life is a colorless sheet of white paper —

how should it be filled, so that one shines with brilliance?

It needs the passion of red,

it needs the loyalty of yellow,

it needs the warmth of pink,

it needs the tempering of black,

it needs the nobility of blue.

It was you who filled in these colors for me,

completing this picture, frame by frame.

Life was thus enriched,

the heart thus consoled.

And the world began to shine with splendor.
